UZBEKISTAN – TASHKENT school, Tashkent glazed ceramic plate with traditional folk designs. To be able to create such large size clay ceramic plate by hand was a great talent and success for a potter. Turquoise colors used in the designs were also known as “The color of Turks” in those years. The back side shows its age with light reddish clay which is still being used by today’s potters in the city of Tashkent. Water ewer symbolizes cleanness and purity, every house has several of these copper and bronze ewers for their daily use.
